London, England has been one of the most influential cities in the history of the modern world. From the beginning of industrialization, to the incredible extent of British colonialism, London has been at the center. Today London is still one of the world's largest urban centers, and sits alongside the likes of New York City and Tokyo as leaders in the global economy. It's a city of rainy weather, afternoon tea, right-hand drive, red double-decker buses, royalty and bells named Big Ben. It has a urban character that is only matched by cities of similar size; more than 10 million people inhabit this urban area. The weather was not on my side, but then it wouldn't be a true London experience had the sun been out for more than a few hours over 5 days. This is London as I saw it; be it from under an umbrella, over the Thames, or after dark taking advantage of some clear weather.
