Diversity is Our Strength. The city motto of Toronto accurately describes the most ethnically diverse metropolis in the world, no doubt. In a country where cultural diversity has shaped what it is to be Canadian, our biggest city is the shining example of an international, multicultural city. Nearly half the people who have made this metro of 5.6 million their home, were born outside of Canada. What does ethnic minority mean? In Toronto, perhaps not much. You can get 911 service in 150 languages, and cuisine of virtually any type of ethnic food imaginable.
Looking around you in Toronto, you will the big and imposing structures on par with just about anything in the world. It's a major global financial centre, the financial center of our country, and home to one of the eight big stock exchanges of the global economy. It's the center of Canadian media, home to our only NBA and MLB team, and one of North America's most extensive infrastructures. It is, without a doubt, Canada's premier metropolis.
