Zurich though, isn\'t an urban metropolis. It doesn\'t even feel like a big city, which I suppose could be seen as an advantage by some. I would probably tell you that the city lacks the urban flavor that makes other cities wonderful. Despite this, Zurich is pristine in location and in design, just don\'t go expecting an urban adventure.
I spent a very short time in Zurich, and some of these captures are actually from the train on my way through Switzerland. " />
Zurich
Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland, situated along lake Zurich at the base of the Alps. You'll often see Zurich right above Vancouver at the very top of those "quality of living" surveys, which claim to quantify the best places in the world to live. Its got natural beauty, it's almost disturbingly clean, and I'm sure the average person makes a fortune working for one of the huge Swiss offshore banking companies holding the money of the world's wealthiest people. Yep, Zurich is the world's center for people securely storing (laundering?) their money. It accounts for at least one quarter of the Zurich's economy, which by the way, per capita, is among the strongest in the world. Zurich though, isn't an urban metropolis. It doesn't even feel like a big city, which I suppose could be seen as an advantage by some. I would probably tell you that the city lacks the urban flavor that makes other cities wonderful. Despite this, Zurich is pristine in location and in design, just don't go expecting an urban adventure.
