A classic pre-war façade. Not a common site in North America.

I don't imagine these chess boards get much use during our winter months.

Nice Glass. The newest addition to the Winnipeg skyline.

China-Town. On the north end of the exchange district, this small cultural area is dotted with many Chinese restaurants and shops.

Winnipeg, February 2008, From the Frozen Rivers.

L'esplanade Riel, with the downtown cluster in the distance.

I nearly froze off my fingers taking these pictures. -35c with the wind-chill. I often wonder why our forefathers built a city here.

Even in the cold though, being on the river in the moonlight can be quite beautiful.

30 second timlapse photo.

These shots were taken from our skate trail, now officially the longest in the world!

Bridges.

Frozen debris. Likely the remains of a stolen bike tossed from the bridge some time ago.

Redwood bridge and the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral...the prime Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Canada.

More to come....
